History
Jönköping Academy for Improvement of Health and Welfare was established in 2009 through a joint initiative between Jönköping University, Region Jönköping County (then the County Council) and the county's 13 municipalities.
The main objective was to strengthen cooperation and also to establish a master's programme in quality improvement and leadership. Within a decade, the programme grew to be a success and our research focus expanded with wider networks within local, national and international contexts seeking collaboration. In 2020, a new agreement was signed between Jönköping University and Region Jönköping County, in 2021 a new vision and mission was developed and a new management team, steering group, director and coordinator were appointed.
The Master's programme in Quality Improvement and Leadership in Health and Welfare is run by the Department of Quality improvement and leadership in collaboration with Jönköping Academy at the School of Health and Welfare.
