Unemployment insurance
Sweden's unemployment insurance comprises two main parts
- Income-Related Insurance (Voluntary)
This component is voluntary and administered through unemployment insurance funds (A-kassor). To qualify, you must be a member and meet specific criteria. As a member, you can receive compensation based on your previous income, up to a certain limit. - Basic Insurance (Publicly Funded)
This is a publicly funded insurance that provides a basic level of compensation. It's available to individuals who are not members of an unemployment insurance fund or who haven't been members long enough to qualify for income-related benefits.
