Catherine Legrand appointed new Dean and Managing Director of the School of Health and Welfare
The Board of the School of Health and Welfare (HHJ) at Jönköping University (JU), has appointed Catherine Legrand, currently active at Halmstad University and Linnaeus University, as Dean and Managing Director of the School of Health and Welfare. She will take up the position on 1 March 2025.

I hope to bring my experience in academia and contribute to engaging staff and students to integrate leadership development as a path to sustainable development in both academic and professional contexts,” says Catherine Legrand.
Catherine has broad experience in academia and has successfully worked with leadership in several higher education institutions. She joins JU from Halmstad University, where she is Dean of the School of Business, Innovation and Sustainability. She has previously been Pro Vice-Chancellor at Linnaeus University for five years. Catherine is a professor of marine ecology and has extensive experience in both sustainability and internationalization issues.

Eleonor Fransson will continue to serve as acting Dean and Managing Director of HHJ until Catherine Legrand takes up her position on 1 March. The position as Dean and Managing Director is a four-year appointment.
