Three JU projects receive funding from Linnaeus-Palme
Jönköping University has been granted funding of in total SEK 860,000 from the Linnaeus-Palme programme. The funding goes to projects at Jönköping International Business School, School of Health and Welfare, and School of Communication and Education.
Linnaeus-Palme supports long-term, bilateral collaboration at the department level between universities in Sweden and universities in low- and middle-income countries. The cooperation takes place in the form of projects and is based on teacher and student exchanges.
The Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR) now has announced what applications for funding from the programme have been approved for the academic year 2016/2017. According to the decision from UHR three out of eight applications from Jönköping University have been approved funding. The following applications were approved:
- Jönköping International Business School, business administration – For collaboration with Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico
- School of Health and Welfare, dental care – For collaboration with Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, South Africa
- School of communication and Education, Sociology – For Collaboration with Lebanese American University, Lebanon
UHR received 202 applications in total, 61 of which were granted a total amount of SEK 15 million. In the light of decreased funding, the premise of UHR in their distribution of funding this time has been – besides high quality – to get a good spread of granted applications among the applying universities.
