Forskning

En del av forskningen rör möjligheten att med hjälp av rheogjutning kunna gjuta höghållfasta komponenter av aluminiumlegeringar. Genom att värmebehandla de gjutna komponenterna kan hög hållfasthet uppnås. Arbetet ska visa på vilka hållfasthetsnivåer som kan förväntas med rheogjutningsprocessen.

I det andra forskningsområdet studeras restspänningar i gjutna och värmebehandlade aluminium komponenter. För att kunna prediktera restspänningarna som uppkommer i en komponent under gjutnings- och värmebehandlingsprocessen så behövs pålitliga materialdata. Uppgiften består bl.a. i att mäta hur elastiska, plastiska och viskoplastiska materialegenskaper beror av temperaturen.

Biografi

Nils-Eric Andersson har läst civilingenjörsprogrammet Teknisk Fysik och Elektroteknik vid LiTH, och disputerade inom Konstruktionsmaterial, också på LiTH, under 2003. 2006 började han arbeta som forskningsingenjör vid Gjuteriföreningen (idag SWEREA SweCast) med gjutjärn, främst kompaktgrafitjärn. Sedan augusti 2007 arbetar han som universitetslektor vid avdelningen Maskinteknik/Komponentteknologi, inriktning gjutning inom JTH.
