New professorship strengthens world-leading research centre
CeFEO (Centre for Family Enterprise and Ownership) is reinforced by a new professorship: International Hamrin Professor in Family Business, funded by a new grant from the Carl-Olof and Jenz Hamrin Foundation. The new professor is Mattias Nordqvist.
CeFEO, which was formed in 2005, is according to international ranking the leading centre in Europe for research on family business. Today, over 25 of the researchers at JĂśnkoping International Business School (JIBS), and a dozen international guest researchers are involved in some twenty projects on family business and ownership at CeFEO.
This successful research centre is now being enhanced with a new professorship: Hamrin International Professor in Family Business, based on a donation from Carl-Olof and Jenz Hamrin Foundation. Mattias Nordqvist takes this chair in June 2011.
Mattias Nordqvist received his PhD at JIBS in 2005 with a thesis on the ownership and strategy processes in family businesses. After his PhD, he has been working as a researcher, lecturer and associate professor at JIBS, and a visiting scholar at Babson College in the U.S. and at Bocconi University in Italy. Mattias has a strong international profile and has in recent years been working with family business issues in Southern Europe, U.S. and Latin America.
CeFEO has also received funds from the Carl-Olof and Jenz Hamrin Foundation for a visiting professorship with a focus on family business studies, which will enable internationally leading family business scholars to work as visiting professors at CeFEO and JIBS for longer periods.
