Forskning

Maria Riveiros forskningsintressen ligger i skärningspunkten mellan människa-datorinteraktion, maskininlärning (ML) och artificiell intelligens (AI). Det centrala temat för hennes forskning är att undersöka möjligheten att integrera ML/AI-system med interaktiva och visuella analysmetoder som stödjer användare. För närvarande fokuserar Prof. Riveiros forskning främst på Explainable AI (XAI) och Human-Centered AI (HCAI).

  • XPECT- Hur anpassas förklaringar från AI-system efter användarnas förväntningar, Vetenskapsrådet. Konsolideringsbidrag.
  • XAI-Pro- Explainable AI for product and service development, inom AFAIR (flervetenskaplig satsning på tillämpad AI- forskningsprofil finansierad av KK-Stiftelsen).
  • AI4QAM - (End-to-End) AI for Quality Assurance in Manufacturing. Project funded by VINNOVA 2024-2027. Vi skapar användarvänlig End-to-End AI för automatiserad kvalitetskontroll av tillverkade komponenter som kan anpassas till olika miljöförhållanden och produktdesign med with RISE, Husqvarna, Thule, Scania, Enodo Robotics and PVI Hydroforming.
  • OptiPro– Optimering av protesdesign enligt Kansei engineering och maskininlärning. Samarbete Hälsohögskolan - Tekniska Högskolan. Partnerföretag: TeamOlmed, Avtik Ortopedteknik, UNYQ.  SPARK. Finansierad av KK-Stiftelsen.

Tidigare projekt:

  • EXPLAIN- Utvärdering av förklarlig artificiell intelligens. Projektet EXplAIn tar sig an utmaningen att utveckla utvärderingsmetoder och mätmetoder för utvärdering av interaktiva maskininlärningssystem som tar hänsyn till mänskliga förutfattade meningar, förväntningar och farhågor vid användning av AI och maskininlärning. Finansierad av Vetenskapsrådet (Etableringsbidrag, till 2023).
  • SMARTER 2.0 Kompetensutveckling inom artificiell intelligens (AI), 2019-2023, PL Örebro Universitet, KK-stiftelsen.

Biografi

Maria Riveiro är Professor i datateknik vid Tekniska högskolan, Jönköping University (JU). Innan hon började på JU har Prof. Riveiro arbetat i flera år vid Högskolan i Skövde, som docent sedan 2015 och biträdande professor i informationsteknologi sedan 2017. Hon har en teknologie doktorsexamen i datavetenskap från Örebro universitet (2011) och en civilingenjör i telekommunikationsteknik från Universitetet i Vigo, Spanien (2004). Hon har haft flera anställningar inom IT-branschen, bland annat som konsult och mjukvaruingenjör, i Finland och Spanien.

Maria Riveiro har erfarenhet av undervisning på grund, avancerad och forskarnivå inom datavetenskap och även inom elektroteknik. Hon har pedagogisk utbildning och under 2014 fick hon titeln "meriterad lärare" från Högskolan i Skövde som är en del av deras pedagogiska karriärstege. Prof. Riveiro handleder för närvarande flera doktorander inom områdena visuell dataanalys, tolkningsbar och interaktiv ML, neurala nätverk, människa-robot interaktion, etc.
