Malin Jakobsson

Malin Jakobsson is a PhD in Caring Sciences, Senior Lecturer at the School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University, and is part of CHILD's interdisciplinary research group. Malin defended her thesis at the University of Borås with the thesis "I want to sleep but can't" - Adolescent's perspectives on factors that impede and promote their sleep. Malin's research focuses on sleep and, above all, in relation to adolescent health. This also includes the perspectives of guardians, teachers, and school nurses on promoting adolescent's sleep and health. In addition, Malins also researches the health promotion work of school nurses and student health care. 

Malin is a pediatric nurse and a district nurse who has worked at a children's clinic for many years and then as a school nurse for many years before she started in academia in 2016 to teach future pediatric and district nurses. 

Malin's commitment to advancing sleep research is evident in her active involvement in various professional organizations. She serves as the convenor of the Network for Junior Sleep Researchers, a board member of the Swedish Association for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine, and a member of the editorial board of the journal Sleep and Health. Additionally, she is an active member of the network of research school nurses in Sweden, supporting the National Association of School Nurses. She is a member of the Global School Nurse Research Consortium.
